Halloween in NYC

Happy Halloween! John & I make a couples costume every year & this year we are Timmy Turner & Trixie Tang from Fairly Odd Parents. The best part is that we didn’t have to buy any new clothes to dress up. I was inspired by Christine of Tour De Lust to shoot these photos under the FDR — the lavender purple color matched perfectly with our characters.

Afterwards, we walked around Pier 17 & got Halloween cauldron drinks by the water. For dinner we had drinks & ramen at NR, a Japanese restaurant in the Upper East Side. Hope you had a spooky & safe Halloween!

MoMA Moments

Two of my favorite things to do in NYC are visit museums & shop at small markets. John & I went to Greenpoint Terminal Market to check out the vendors & grab some food. I saw a Calathea Ornata plant with pink variegations on it & I knew I had to take it home. Next we drove into the city & went to MoMA. I had this art exhibit bookmarked for the longest time & I’m glad I had the chance to finally see it in person. Afterwards, we passed by this beautiful wedding reception on 53rd Street & went to Eclair Bakery & Surreal Creamery for some desserts to-go.

The Oculus

The Oculus is a place that is usually super crowded with tourists & New Yorkers commuting to & from work. It was practically a ghost town there on Thursday night when I went to shoot these photos. While it does make for an easier photoshoot, I definitely miss the hustle & bustle of Manhattan.

September Arrivals | Viva La Vibe Boutique

The September Arrivals for Viva La Vibe Boutique are going back to the basics, but with a trendy twist.

The Baby J Crop Tanks in white & black are perfect to transition from summer to fall. They are ribbed, stretchy, & not see through. Pair them with denim shorts + sneakers or sweatpants + slides for some casual looks.

The Hexagonal sunnies are a mix between the classic aviator style & round frames. They come in a variety of colors.

The opal eternity ring + eyelash ring are great statement jewelry pieces. Pair it with some dainty rings to complete your look.

Sunday in Montauk

John & I made our way out east to enjoy our last Montauk summer trip of the year. We got there in the early afternoon & strolled through some boutiques & stores before heading to Sel Rose for lunch at 2 pm. The food was so good, probably the best lobster rolls & truffle fries I've ever had.

Next, we went to Duryea's Lobster Deck to make a reservation for dinner. Reservations typically fill up by 5 pm & the wait is 1-2 hours so make sure to get there early if you want to catch the sunset. We got frozen margs at TT's Montauk, taco spot nearby while we waited for our table.

At Duryea's we were seated right on the water. The waitress said that table was just added today & it had the best sunset spot in the restaurant. I couldn't have asked for a better view & end to the day.

Sand Leopard

Leopard print & neutral tones are the best combo, especially in bikini form. All the swimwear pieces I've worn this summer are from Abercrombie & Fitch. They have the most flattering styles from bikinis to one-pieces & even cover-ups. Their colors & prints are also timeless, it's so hard to pick just one. They always have great online & in store sales, so check it out!

Greene Street

SoHo is one of my favorite areas in the city. I love shopping at all the big retail stores on Broadway & grabbing food at a cafe/bakery nearby. Elle, @thebloggerphotographer_ & I collaborated to shoot these photos on the iconic Greene Street. The stunning architecture of the SoHo lofts was a perfect backdrop.

Summer Pastels | Viva La Vibe Boutique

I'm so excited to finally share the Summer Pastels Collection on Viva La Vibe. I have been holding onto these pieces for months, waiting for the right time to shoot them & I'm really happy with how all the photos turned out. I've been loving pastels for summer & these tops are definitely statement pieces. It's fun to switch it up from my usual neutral color palette.

You're The Sunflower

Yellow isn't a color I would typically wear, but when I spotted this top while shopping for my boutique, I knew I had to get it & shoot the look at a sunflower field. I have definitely branched out from my normal neutral style this summer & am loving more pale, pastel shades. This top & the last of the summer arrivals will be dropping on Viva La Vibe in August!

A Day In DUMBO

DUMBO is one of my favorite spots in Brooklyn. Nothing beats the classic New York architecture & the beautiful views of Manhattan. I got a lobster roll from Luke’s Lobster & enjoyed it on the steps of Jane’s Carousel. Then John & I went to the top floor of Time Out Market for a bird’s eye view of the park. We took some photos at the iconic Washington Street which has the best view of the Manhattan Bridge. We ended our day with ice cream from Oddfellows & found a great spot in Brooklyn Bridge Park to watch the sunset.

8 Year Anniversary | July 9, 2020

Eight years of being with my best friend ♥ It seems like just yesterday we were in high school, trying to figure out our next stages in life. I still feel like that fifteen year old who fell in love, so young.

Eight years have passed & we’re still trying to figure out our future, together. Nothing is ever easy, but you are always the answer. Happy anniversary, love ♥

Lavender By The Bay

Lavender has become one of my favorite colors & flowers this summer. The color is so vibrant & lavender essential oils really help me relax after a stressful night at work. I went to the lavender fields in Long Island at their peak bloom in the beginning of July. It was so beautiful, I had to go twice. I especially loved walking through the rows of plants & seeing all the bees.

Everything Is Blue

This summer, I realized I have an obsession with 4 things: shades of blue, matching sets, leopard & acid wash/tie dye. I've been wearing matching sets 24/7 because they're easy to throw on & so comfortable. Especially when you're out & about all day. It's been nice to explore different parts of New York & be outside in this amazing weather. Here's where I went last week:

Let's Go To The Beach

I never appreciated the beaches near my house until this year. My summers in college consisted of taking summer classes, attending clinicals & working so I was rarely home. Now that I work 3-4 days a week, I'm making it a priority to go to the beach once a week to relax & enjoy the summer weather.

May Arrivals | Viva La Vibe Boutique

Happy May! New arrivals just dropped on Viva La Vibe that are perfect for lounging at home.
There are also some cute workout sets & the tops can easily be dressed up with different accessories.

Love Is Calling

I first found out about Love Is Calling while researching museums for my trip to Boston last summer. While it was too late to get tickets, I knew I wanted to go back & experience it for myself. At the beginning of March, I was lucky enough to get tickets for the infinity room. Each exhibit of Yayoi Kusama's is run a little differently so definitely check the museum's website for information on how to sign up & see her installation in person!

✦ Good Vibes Trench Coat ✦ | ✦ Limelight Lace Bodysuit ✦

In The Limelight

Spring is officially here & there's nothing better than taking a stroll in one of my favorite Manhattan neighborhoods. Every corner of West Village is picturesque & I have yet to try a restaurant in this area that disappoints. This bodysuit from my boutique, Viva La Vibe, was the perfect pop of color in front of this French cafe. I paired it with a black leather jacket, gray high-waisted skinny jeans from Zara, custom AF1's, & necklaces from Cuffed by Nano. What are some of your favorite spots in West Village?

Hiking the Catskills

Everyone needs a little break from the city- even if its only for a couple of days. So I decided to take advantage of my 3-day weekend off from work & plan a trip upstate. I found the cutest little Airbnb home in Hudson to stay in. After booking it, there was an Airbnb experience that really caught my eye. I've only gone hiking during the summer, but when I saw photos of the Catskills during the winter, I knew I had to see it for myself.

It was so fun to have a private tour of Kaaterskill Falls with an experienced hiker. He even had a drone to fly over the waterfall for some arial shots. We got to see the waterfall from every angle & every view was incredible. I love how the waterfall looks in the surrounding snow & icicles. I definitely prefer winter hikes after this trip.

Hudson Hideaway

If you're looking to get away from the city, Hudson is the perfect place to go. My boyfriend & I decided to take a trip for Valentine's Day weekend to explore upstate New York in the winter time.

Hoodie Szn

During the winter, I usually go for the typical knit sweater with leggings & black ankle boots. But lately I've been building my winter wardrobe to include statement pieces that I really love & would wear over & over again. I bought a reflective puffer that layers so well over cropped hoodies & custom Air Force 1s from ONEtwelves that can go with any comfy outfit. I prefer buying cropped hoodies because the length is perfect for me & isn't too baggy & oversized. Now I want to buy a cropped hoodie in every color!

Balayage at Bianchi

I’ve been getting balayage or hand-painted highlights for almost 4 years now & there’s no turning back. It has completely changed my appearance, in the best way. I look at pictures of myself with dark hair & I don’t even recognize myself!

The City That Never Sleeps

With the sun setting so early & me working at night, it's been hard to wake up at a normal time to take advantage of the city during the day. So lately I've been enjoying New York City at night. It has it's perks - like actually getting a seat on the subway & seeing the skyline lit up by all the city lights.

Louis Vuitton GM Agenda

I've loved planning & organizing in agendas since I was in high school. There's something about writing things down with a pen & paper that make me productive & motivated to get things done. I've used just about every planner - from Lilly Pulitzer agendas to bullet journals, but my favorite has been the A5 planner.

In 2019, I had this Louis Vuitton GM agenda on my vision board & I decided to finally make the investment & purchase it. After all, it is something that I will use every day & I love the classic monogram print.
